Sony's PSP (PlayStation Portable) was released in 2004.The PlayStation Portable is the first handheld video game console to use an optical disc format, Universal Media Disc.The PSP is currently available in nine colors. These include piano black, ceramic white, icy silver, rose pink, deep red, champagne gold, felicia blue, mint green, and lavender purple.The PSP has a 333Mhz 128 data width CPU,a 32MB RAM with Memory Stick Pro Duo Storage.The PSP supports WLAN,IrDA,Wi-Fi and USB connectivity.In September 2007, Sony announced that a new version of the PSP would be released for all regions which will be 33% lighter and 19% thinner than the original PSP.The PSP slim and lite included composite TV output, supports USB charging, 64MB onboard RAM, and has a brighter screen.It has a 4.3inch LCD screen of 480 x 272 pixel video playback with 16.77 million colors.The PSP includes an 1800 maH that will provide about 4-6 hours of gameplay, 4-5 hours of video playback, or 8-11 hours of audio playback.The PSP has a XrossMediaBar which includes Settings, Photo, Music, Video, Game, and Network.It also has a Internet Browser with Adobe Flash Support.It also includes the Remote Play which allows PSP to access the PS3 HDDs within a LAN Network.Games are availabe in UMD and Memory Stick Format.

The Nintendo DS Lite is a dual screen handheld console and is released in 2006.It is available in three colours Crystal White, Ice Blue and Enamel Navy.It has two processors one with 67Mhz and another with 33Mhz with 4MB storage.It supports LAN and Wi-Fi connectivity.It is released in various editions depending upon the game.The games are available in Game Boy Advance Cartridge.It also includes a Nintendo Headset with one earphone and one microphone.In 2006, Nintendo announced a version of the cross platform browser Opera for the DS system.It also includes a WiFi USB Connector,a Slide Controller,a Camera,a Paddle Controller and a Guitar Grip Controller.

In the above screenshot,the left screenshot shows a car race played on PSP while on the next screenshot it is played on Nintendo DS Lite.Though you could find the difference in the Graphics.If you are hardcore gamer and you are more important about the graphics then your choice is PSP while if you are timepass gamer to have fun then opt Nintendo DS Lite as it has light pen gaming also.
