Living in an imaginary World is not so far when you have Google who are creating a Virtual World.Google first acquired the virtual globe program from the Keyhole Inc. in 2004.Actually at first the superimposition of the images of the earth are obtained fro the satellite imagery and aerial photography.

In 2005,the officially renamed it as Google Earth and now it is available in most of the platforms.Google Earth also uses the digital elevation model data collected by NASA's Shuttle Radar Topography Mission.This made the Grand Canyons and Mount Everest to look like in three dimensions.Google Earth supports managing three-dimensional Geospatial through Keyhole Markup Language.

It all started in 2007 when Google started using SketchUp,a 3D modeling program used to show 3D buildings and structures.In versions prior to Google Earth 4, 3D buildings were limited to a few cities, and had poorer rendering with no textures.In August 2007,Hamburg became the first city to be entirely show in 3D.Later the Irish town of Westport was added which was made using long-distance laser scanning technology and digital photography.

In the latest version of Google Earth 4.2,Google added a Sky tool for viewing stars and astronomical images on August 22,2007.Google Sky produced by Google a partnership with the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore, the science operations center for the Hubble Space Telescope.They also created Google Moon and Google Mars in Google maps.With Google Earth 4.3 they launched with integrated Street View in Google Earth on April 15,2008.Google Street View provides 360° panoramic street-level views and allows users to view parts of selected cities and their surrounding metropolitan areas at ground level.
