Yet another defeat in clay

Finally French Open 2008 concluded with the finals of between the Men's SinglesWorld No.1 Swiss Roger Federer and ATP No.2 Spaniard Rafael Nadal. Rafael Nadal,the winner in Roland Garros since 2005 made a commanding win against Federer to continue his unbeaten record of 28 matches won on clay.Federer decided to serve, but the Spaniard immediately attacked the Swiss' serve, and broke him, winning his following game to quickly open a 2–0 lead. Though Federer won his following serve, but was not able to convert the few break points he had on Nadal's serve, or win his own service games in the rest of the set, allowing the Spaniard to close the first set with 6-1. Despite being broken in the beginning of the second set, Federer started to fight back, as he finally took Nadal's serve, came back to 2–2, and held to 3–3. After a long game on Federer's serve, Nadal finally broke once more, and rapidly finished the set on the score of 6–3.Then in the third set a shocking play from Federer as he lost the set with 6-0 as he hasnt lost a set with 6-0 since 1999.The Spaniard won 9 matches out of 10 matches against Federer in clay.This is also the fourth consecutive year that Federer and Nadal have met at the French Open, with Federer losing his third consecutive final to Nadal as well as their semifinal match at the 2005 French Open.In Women's Singles Ana Ivanovic beats Dinara Safina with 6-4,6-3 on straight sets.
